- Location: Situated in a province in western Thailand, about 120 km west of Bangkok.
- Population: Approximately around 850,000 residents.
- Climate: Has three seasons: hot from March to May, rainy from June to October, and cool from November to February.
- Top Attractions: Bridge over the River Kwai, Death Railway, Erawan National Park, Wat Tham Sua & Elephant Santuaries.
- Economy: Relies mostly on tourism, agriculture, mining, and hydropower. Tourism is the main driver.
- Transportation: In Khanchanaburi, you can use songthaews, tuk-tuks, or rent bikes and scooters to get around. For longer trips, car rentals and trains are options.
